Supramolecular chemistry controlled by packing interactions during structure-direction of nanoporous materials: Effect of the addition of methyl groups on ephedrine derivatives
Methyl- and dimethyl-ephedrine derivatives drive the synthesis of AFI framework. Resistance of dimethyl-ephedrinium to hydrothermal treatment is lower. Supramolecular aggregation is reduced upon addition of methyl groups on ephedrine. Ephedrine dimers are more stable because of H-bond inter-dimer interactions.
