ĦĦĦĦLaunched in 1985, the Chinese Geological
Literature Database System (GDS) provides comprehensive and authoritative
electronic reference information of Chinese geosciences literature
resources for universities, research centers and other organizations
in the world community via the internet and intranets. It contains
over 400 Chinese geoscience periodicals and conference publications.
ĦĦĦTThe main goal is to digitize all
Chinese geoscience literature and create multiple channels for
accessing it. An interactive environment for collecting, integrating,
storing, organizing, distributing and utilizing information has
been created, closely connecting information providers and users
and facilitating efficient knowledge sharing. At present, the
database contains over 230,000 records and another 14 000 records
are added per year.
