The survey data of landslides and debris flows from 1989 to 2002 in Yunnan Province indicate that the activities of landslides and debris flows are mainly affected by the natural factors such as landform, lithology, rainfall, earthquake, active fault, climate zone and vegetation. Thoes natural factors are analyzing by R-factor analysis, stepwise regression and degree of association (gray system theory). The results shows that altitude and height is the most important factor to landslide, then is slope, earthquake, active fault, lithology and rainfall. Active fault takes the first place to debris flows, the next is altitude and height difference, lithology, earthquake and rainfall.
