摘要
《应对地球危机的设计之道》,是一部基于美国实践案例,从多领域、跨学科的角度介绍可持续发展理念、原则、思考方式在城乡规划设计领域中应用的专著。该书从作者本人对项目、事件、经历的亲身体验出发,讨论了在可持续规划设计中考虑地域主义、社会公平、历史文脉的重要性,也对低碳城市、雨水利用、下一代基础设施等可持续发展导向规划、设计的具体内容展开了详细说明。对于建筑、景观、规划专业的在校学生或刚刚从事规划、设计实践的青年从业人员而言,该书有助于他们快速了解相应的理念和知识,并运用在可持续导向的规划、设计之中。因此,本文希望通过对该书特点、内容的评述,以及对作者主要观点的总结,为需要了解此书的青年读者提供总体的介绍与参考。
        The book of Design for a Vulnerable Planet is written by Ecological Planner Frederick Steiner. Based on the American examples, this book introduced how to integrate the sustainable development concept, principle and methodology in planning and design disciplines. Through the narration of Steiner's personal experienced event, projects or perspectives, this book discussed the importance of thinking regionalism, social justice, and culture context during planning and design, while this book also delivered the specific knowledge on how to practice in the aspects of low-carbon city design, storm water management, and next generation infrastructure construction etc. For the students and young professionals in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning, this book is illustrative for them to better understand the concept and principles of sustainable planning and design, which will help them to better perform in their professional practice. Accordingly, this paper intends to review the features and content of this book, and offer a general and summarized introduction for the potential readers.
