Oxidation dynamics of metal atoms in gas phase studied by crossed beam and time-sliced velocity map ion imaging

摘要
Recently we have employed time-sliced velocity map ion imaging,in combination with crossed beam and laser ablation,to study the reaction mechanism of the oxidation dynamics of aluminum atoms.The reaction,Al(~2P_(1/2,3/2))+O_2(X~3Σ_(g-)→AlO(X~2Σ~+)+O(~3P_J),has been studied at low collision energy about 1.5 kcal/mol.The Al atomic beam was generated by laser ablation and carried out by the supersonic Ar beam,and then crossed O_2 supersonic beam at an intersection angle of 90°.The product AlO was detected by(1+1)resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization via AlO((D~2Σ~+-X~2Σ~+)transition.The slice images of AlO at specific rotational and vibrational states were recorded and differential cross sections of products have been obtained directly for respective A10(X~2Σ~+,v=0,N=1-51)rovibrational state.The reaction dynamics of the Al atoms will be discussed with a full picture of vector correlation between reactant velocity k,product velocity k'and rotational angular momentum J'.
