The mass concentration of salt in secondary electric desalting crude oil was determined by the coulometry method and conductivity method. The results showed that the optimum conditions of the coulometry method were bias voltage 240 mV, integral resistance 2.0 kΩ, and water bath temperature 60 ℃.The salt mass concentration determined by the conductivity method was higher than that of the coulometry method for the same sample. With the standard solution as research object, the recovery determined by the conductivity method and coulometry method was 99.7%-100.4% and 101.2%-101.8% respectively, both of those met the method requirements. The repeatability of coulometry method was better than that of the conductivity method.
