The reaction of [Li{²-OC(Mes')AsC(Mes')O}(OEt₂)], Mes' = C₆H₂Prⁱ₃-2,4,6, with [{RhCl(COD)}₂],COD = 1,5-C₈H₁₂, in either a 1:1 or 2:1 stoichiometryyields the novel rhodium-diacylarsenido complexes,[{Rh(COD)}₂--Cl--{As[C(O)Mes']₂}] and [Rh(COD){¹-As[C(Mes')O]₂Li(OEt₂)Cl}], respectively. The X-ray crystal structure of each is described and mechanisms fortheir formations proposed.
