     Both bauxite and hematite deposit in Mdeng area are found in lower Jiujialu formation of Carbo- niferious system, the horizon is stable and the extension is huge. The orebody forms bedded and quasi bedded, the occurrence is lenticular and accordant with the stratum, the grade is high and changes a little. Thickness of ore-bearing rock is controlled by dolomite weathering crust of Gaopochang formation of underlying Devonian system. By compare the bauxite in this area with ore- bearing bauxite deposit of Jiujialu formation in Dadouchang of Xiuwen, peculiarity of bauxite deposit in this area can be found. According to the distribution, thickness and the variation of Jiujialu formation, the exploration potential of the bauxite is assessed and hoped to accord some guidance for bauxite exploration in the future.
