Dispersed Cuticles from the Lower Cretaceous Wunite Coal Field in Inner Mongolia
详细信息
摘要
Well-preserved dispersed cuticles were found in the Lower Cretaceous Bayanhua Formation of Wunite Coal Field in Inner Mongolia. The fossil-bearing rock member can be divided into 6successional layers.Athrotaxites-type,Manica-type,Pterophyllum-type,Zamites-type,Ginkgo-types,Baiera-types,Czekanowskia-types have been deduced as the parent plants for dispersed cuticles according to the characteristics of the epidermal structures. Also, abundant spores and pollen grains were obtained from the same samples, mainly including Ginkgoretectina,Bennettiteaepollenites,Cycadopites,Taxodiaceaepollenites and Podocarpidites. Thus, the dispersed fossil sporopollen types are in accordance with the parent plants deduced from the dispersed cuticles.Based on the assembling characteristics of the deduced parent plants, the climate in the sedimentary period of the Bayanhua Formation was probably warm temperate with seasonal changes.
