Geological Characteristics and Prospecting Perspective of the Xintian Gold Deposit in Huidong County, Sichuan Province, Southwestern China
详细信息
摘要

The Xintian gold deposit in I-Iuidong county, Sichuan province, southwestern China is an important exploration achievement of our project team in the central-east Kangdian area. Two Cu-Au ore bodies were delineated after the survey and evaluation of mineral resources, of which the K1 ore body is 1200m long and 1.88m thick on average with a mean ore grade of 2.53g/t for Au and 0.45% for Cu, and the K2 ore body is 400m long and 2. 65m thick, with an average ore grade of 4.56g/t for Au and 0.74% for Cu. The metal reserve 3341 of Au is about 5218 kg and Cu about 12.7 kg ac- cording to preliminary calculations. The mineralized geological background and characteristics of mineral deposits are presented in this paper. The Xintian gold deposit is considered as a gold deposit of the tectonic altered rock type through research on the ore-controlling factors, and its metallogenic epoch and ore genesis are similar to the adjacent Boka gold deposit which is controlled by the ductile shear zone trending north-south. This work suggests that there is a great potential for prospecting gold deposits of the same type in Xintian and adjacent areas.
