摘要
Aim To analyze the rules and reasons of the vertical hydraulic conductivity of sediments changes with depth in Weihe River. Methods In this study, the bilevel valves of vertical hydraulic conductivity(Kv) for a streambed were derived by using falling-head standpipe permeameter tests conducted at four test locations in eight test points including Meixian,Xianyang,Caotan and Lintong. Results The superstratum Kv test value is the same as the substratum at test point 4 of Meixian. At test point 5 of Meixian the superstratum Kv test value is lower than the substratum.Besides, for the other six test points, the superstratum Kv test value is higher than the substratum and the ratio of superstratum to substratum is 0.42~7.87.Conclusion The Kv values of riverbed sediment decreases with increasing depth, which is not entirely caused by the different sediment particle size distribution, but the combined action of sediment particle size distribution, surface porosity of sediment, the hydrological processes between surface water and groundwater, and bioturbation as well.
