By analyzing of well drilling, well logging, core and cryptogam fossils data, the sand bodies previously classified to the middle of two sets of oil-bearing shale in the lower Es3 should be classified to low-stand system tract (LST) in the middle Es3, which is deposited in underwater fluvial and deep-water turbidite fan phases. The depositional and distributive characteristics of LST in middle Es3 indicated that the sand deposition-sequence and system tract overlay mode are from low-water-level deep-water turbidite fan to low-water-level alluvial fan in earlier lake-level-rise stage, and to later transgressive waterways.
