///Through the studies of the reservoir characteristics of lithological reservoir accumulation belts in medium and shallow formations of Songliao Basin, the concept of small-size oil reservoir group is presented. The basic reason of complicated oil and water distribution in lithological oil reservoirs is due to the characteristics of their small- size oil reservoir group. When OOIP is calculated in an exploration province with small-size oil-reservoir group’s characteristics, the value selection of both original oil saturation and effective porosity should follow the methods of both well point and effective pore volume; oil boundary should be determined section-by-section by the small oil reservoirs connected each other. The development of this kind of oilfield should be abided by the characteristics of small-size oil reservoir group and then the adaptive water-flooding well patterns are made to these small block-type reservoirs.
