Seismic data are often influenced unavoidably by various kinds of factors in the course of data acquisition, which reduces the SNR of the seismic data and increases the difficulty of fault recognition. The purpose of fault enhance is to describe the fault clearly and improve the SNR of the seismic data at the same time. Orientational edge preserving fault enhance technology is proposed, seismic event direction information is estimated by orientation filter at first, and then edge preserving filter technology is combined to enhance fault information. Applying this technology to the seismic data and clearer fault information with good continuity of seismic coherence can be acquired. This technology is helpful for structure interpretation and petroleum transportation system quantitative evaluation.
