The authors made experimental studies on the competitive absorption and the impact of factors of the heavy metal ions in modified zeolite choosing Na-modified zeolite as the absorbent and single solutions with cadmium, zinc, lead, as well as a mixture with cadmium, zinc, lead solution for the absorbent. The results indicated that if a variety of divalent heavy metals were present, there was competitive absorption between the ions and the competitiveness for the Pb²⁺>Cd²⁺>Zn²⁺; Zn²⁺-Cd²⁺ showed a marked synergistic effect of absorption, and Zn²⁺-Pb²⁺, Cd²⁺-Pb²⁺ showed antagonistic effect.
