The nephrite samples from Hualien Fengtien nephrite belt of oft-com:office:smarttags" />Taiwan are studied by Fourier transform infrared absorption spectra and XRD, indicating that the nephrite samples are mainly composed of tremolite. The microstructures of nephrite are felt-like blastic texture, columnar blastic texture, bundle-like blastic texture and parallel fibroblastic texture. The tremolite went through four different generations. The first is coarse columnar. The second is fine columnar, interspersed among the first generation. The third is felt-like aggregate. The fourth is parallel fiber-shaped, formed in last stage.
