Statistical Damage Softening Constitutive Model for Rock

Taking the Hoek-Brown damage criterion as the distribution variable and making use of the strain-equivalence hypothesis, a rock softening and damage constitutive model was established under the triaxial stress state based on the strength characteristics of rock micro-unit with the Weibull distribution. Then the constitutive model was verified by test data from the triaxial experiment and the result indicates that the proposed constitutive model can accurately reflect the relationship between stress and strain of rock and the full process of rock failure, especially the characteristics of strain softening. So, the proposed constitutive model is rational and feasible, and it will have a vast range of applications.
