Reconstruction on the Temperature Parameters of the Late Pliocene Zhangcun, State w:st="on">Shanxi Province, Using MG (the Method of Grichuk and His Coauthors)

摘要

In order to reconstruct the Cenozoic climate changes in the terrestrial ecosystem,    different quantitative bio-methods, e.g. the Climate Leaf Analysis Multivariate Program and the Coexistence Approach, have been developed.The Method of Grichuk and his coauthors (MG) is another one among those of quantitative bio-methods. Here the authors introduce the principle of MG and reconstruct the Late Pliocene temperate parameters of Zhangcun (36°58’N, 112°51’E; 1 043 m a.s.l), Shibei Town, Wuxiang County, State w:st="on">Shanxi Province applying MG. The Zhangcun site is located on the eastern edge of the Chinese Loess Plateau, and falls into the modern Chinese warm temperate monsoon zone. Their finding indicates a much warmer climate than today (MAT 8.8 ℃, MWMT 22.4 ℃, MCMT -6.8 ℃) in the Late Pliocene Zhangcun area.
