According to features of the alluvial fan terrain, groundwater storage structures and water resources of the Tailan River watershed, specific ideas of construction of underground reservoirs are proposed in this paper. The Blue River underground reservoir demonstration project under construction is taken as an example. The feasibility of building underground reservoirs of the “Wang Hom Er well” type is discussed. The results can provide new ideas for the reasonable development of water resources in arid areas.
