Based on the historical geohazard statistics, the correlation is analyzed between the rainfalls and the geohazards in Zhouqu County. The results reveal a strong positive correlation of geological hazards with accumulated precipitation for one to three hours before the hazard occurrence, monthly mean rainfall and monthly storm frequency. Meteorological and rainfall causes are also investigated for the August 8th Super debris flow and countermeasures are proposed against geohazards in Zhouqu County.
