摘要
《典型的美国佬》是美国华裔第二代作家任碧莲的第一部长篇小说,也是她的代表作,小说出版后受到了广泛的好评。作品中的张家人身为华裔移民在美国的经历使每个张家人的思维都发生了变化:包括亲情观、婚恋观和子女教育观三个方面构成的家庭观。张家人亲情观的基本特征是家庭成员之间相互关心,"家和"思想是其婚恋观的核心,中国文化是其子女教育观的核心。
Typical American, the Chinese American writer Gish Jen's masterpiece, has been widely acclaimed after publication. In this novel, Chang's family, as Chinese immigrants in the United States, is greatly influenced by American values, but keeps Chinese core values as its mainstay. This paper analyzes the family values from three aspects: kinship values, marriage values and children education values. It embodies the kinship view of mutual concern among the Chang's family, the marriage view with family harmony as the core, and the children education view with Chinese culture as the core.
