摘要
中国英语学习者所犯的缺省和冗余两类错误的语科库研究
本文以中介语理论为基础,采用对比分析,错误分析的主要观点,研究了缺省和冗余两类错误,期望发现中国学生在英语的过程中所犯的缺省和冗余这两类错误的模式。
该研究采用了语料库的研究方法,运用了CLEC语料库。我们在此语料库中选取了三组英语水平不同的学生的作文作为我们的研究对象。通过研究,我们发现:1)英语水平同缺省和冗余的发生成反比。英语水平越高,缺省和冗余发生的可能性就越小,一个词缺省的可能性越大,则冗余的可能性就越大,反之亦然。
该研究也调查了影响缺省和冗余发生的因素,包括母语相关因素,第二语言相关因素,认知因素,以及与教学策略相关的因素。我们也从认知方面解释了缺省和冗余的发生规律。在此基础上,本文又继续讨论了该研究对中国的英语教学的启示并提出了一些具体的建议。

A Corpus Study of Two Types of Errors:
Absence and Redundancy Committed by Chinese EFL Learners
Based on the theory of IL, the present study investigates two types of errors: absence and redundancy. This study investigates the absence and redundancy patterns characterized by Chinese EFL learners.
Corpus approach is adopted in the present study. CLEC is the corpus we used. From the corpus, three groups of EFL learners at different EFL proficiency are chosen as our subjects. The following findings are obtained in the present study: 1). English proficiency level is inversely proportional to the commitment of absence and redundancy. The higher English proficiency level one has, the less likely will he commit the two types of errors: absence and redundancy of a same word, and vice versa. 2). Absence and redundancy are correlated. They are in direct proportion. When a word is more possible to be absent, it is also more likely to be redundant, and vice versa.
The present study also investigates the factors behind absence and redundancy including L1- dependent factors, L2- related factors, cognitive factors and factors related to teaching strategies and explains the occurrence of absence and redundancy cognitively. The implications of the findings for EFL teaching in China are also discussed in the study.
