Today’s maketing environment is characterized by time-based competition. Complextechnological advances, shortened product life cycles, diverse customer requirements, andincreased demand for product variety in fragmented global markets have drasticallyshortened market visibility and increased uncertainty. The competition is no longerbetween organizations, but among supply chains. In assembly supply chain, the supplylogistics management is difficult. Because manufacturers demand a variety of relatedcomponents, usually, the produnction of parts and assembly the products are occured indifferent regions. In addition, all the components must have gotten together, whenmanufacturer want to complete assembling. The research analyzs the characters ofassembly supply chain. Scale development, confirmatory factor analysis and structuralequation modeling are used to study the related factors and impact mechanism of supplysupply logistics synchronization in assembly supply chain.
Firstly, the supply logistics synchronization theory is developed based on enterpriseinvestigation, literature review and experts interview. It considers not only thesynchronization between multiple suppliers and downstream manufacturer, but also thevarious suppliers collaborate with each other to meet the needs of downstreammanufacturer. The scale to measure supply logistics synchronization is developed, itincludes3dimensions: suppliers and manufacturer synchronization, synchronizationamong suppliers and logistics service capability. The scale is revised by pilot study. Thenwe collect data by questionnaire which cooperated with―e-works‖site.
Secondly, Model of relationship among suppliers and manufacturer synchronization, synchronization among suppliers, logistics service capability, supply chain agility and firmperformance is proposed. Then we use the collected data to test and validate the modle. The results indicate that, there are significiat correlation among suppliers andmanufacturer synchronization, synchronization among suppliers and logistics servicecapability; suppliers and manufacturer synchronization and logistics service capabilityhave significant positive effects on supply chain agility, then indirectly positivly affectfirm performance which is taking supply chain agility as intermediate variable.
Thirdly, we hypothesize the effects of partnership on information sharing and supplylogistics synchronization, information sharing on supply logistics synchronization.Information sharing is measured from two aspects of the level and quality. ThoughStatistical analysis, we find significant direct and indirect positive effects of partnershipand quality of information sharing on supply logistics synchronization. But the effect oflevel of information sharing on supply logistics synchronization is not significant. Theseshow that, if companies want to promote supply logistics synchronization, does not needto share more private key informations, just need to improve the quality of sharedinformation.
Finally, the reaserch investigates the impacts of partnership and information sharingon supply logistics synchronization and supply chain agility, all aimed at firm performance. The measurement model is eastablished, and tested by data that collected byquestionnaires. The results confirm effects of partnership and information sharing onsupply logistics synchronization, direct and indirect positive effects of supply logisticssynchronization on supply chain agility and firm performance again. Especially, unlikeexisting conclusions, we find that the direct impacts of partnership and informationsharing on supply chain agility are not significant, but they indirectly affect supply chainagility which is taking supply logistics synchronization as intermediate variable.
