近代英国农业市场化研究
摘要
农业是国民经济的基础部门,是工业成长的基本保证。对原生型资本主义国家而言,农业生产领域内的变革及其所产生的影响,是成功实现农耕社会向现代社会转型的重要条件之一。英国是典型的原生型资本主义国家,研究近代英国的农业转型有助于认识社会的发展规律。
西方史学界主要以“商业化模式”和“人口学模式”解释自然经济向现代经济转型的原因,国内史学界研究英国农业转型问题集中在市场需求以及土地制度的演变两个方面。
本文试图将市场力量的发展与农业阶级结构的变迁结合起来,借鉴中外史家的研究成果,考察近代英国农业市场化的历史条件、近代英国农业在市场化进程中的调整以及农业市场化对近代英国的影响。全文共分为三个部分:
第一部分,分析近代英国农业市场化的历史条件。首先对乡绅阶层的构成进行考察分析,发现乡绅阶层是最有可能促进传统农业变革的一股社会力量。其次,考察英国当时的农业需求,主要考察人口、工商业、海外贸易对农业需求的影响。
第二部分,分析近代英国农业在市场化进程中的调整,包括结构性调整和技术性调整两个层面。结构性调整主要涉及土地的商品化和土地关系的变革;技术性变革则是指英国各农业阶层为满足赢利需要而进行的农业技术改良和农业产业结构的调整。这些调整客观上适应了农业市场化的需要,促进了英国传统农业向现代农业的转型。
第三部分,分析农业市场化对近代英国的影响,主要体现在两个方面。一是社会影响,指农业市场化对近代英国社会结构的演变所起的分化、整合作用,以及农业阶级结构的变迁对英国政治体制的影响。二是经济影响,即农业市场化对工业化的影响。
Agriculture, the foundation section of the national economy, is one necessary assurance for the industrial development. The changes in agriculture and the influences of these changes condition the evolution of the society from farming to industry for the protoplasm capitalism states. The studies on the agriculture transformation of modern England, a typical protoplasm capitalism nation, helps to understanding of the law of the evolution of the society.
When it comes to the study of the transformation of agriculture from subsistence farming to modern farming, there are two dominant models, commercialization and anthropology, adopted to explain this transformation in the circle of western historians. The Chinese historians discuss it from the perspectives of market demands and land system.
By combination of the development of market with the variation of the structure of agricultural classes, this present dissertation makes a study on the historical conditions and the adjustments in the course of the marketization of modern English agriculture , and the impact of the results from it upon the modern English society and economy based on the findings by historians at home and abroad.
The dissertation is composed of three parts.
The first part is an analysis of the historical conditions for the marketization of modern English agriculture. The first investigation goes to the constituents of the squire group and it brings a finding that this group is most likely to make changes to the traditional agriculture. The second one makes an observation of the agricultural demands at the time from three angles: population, industry and commercial, and oversea trade.
The second part focuses on the structural and technical adjustments to the marketizing of modern English agriculture. The former adjustment involves the commercialization of the land and changes of land ownership. The latter is on the improving of agricultural techniques sponsored by the agricultural classes for pursuing much more profits from the market. These adjustments meet the needs of English agriculture marketization and advance the transformation of English agriculture from subsistence farming to modern farming.
The third part evaluates the impacts of the marketization of English agriculture upon the Modern English society and economy. The impact on the society is reflected by the differentiating and synthesizing function of marketization to the variations of Modern English social structure and the influences of the changes of agricultural classes on the political systems of England. The second is on the impact of English agriculture marketization upon the industrialization.

73中世纪和近代早期,敞田制盛行于英格兰中部平原开阔地带。在敞田制下,农民持有的份地以条田的形式散落在庄园的各块土地上,条田之间以隆起的田埂隔开。休耕的土地转化成草地,由农事官集中管理,收割时按轮换制度或抽签方式进行分配。收获之后,耕田和草地立刻变成公共牧场。

73中世纪和近代早期,敞田制盛行于英格兰中部平原开阔地带。在敞田制下,农民持有的份地以条田的形式散落在庄园的各块土地上,条田之间以隆起的田埂隔开。休耕的土地转化成草地,由农事官集中管理,收割时按轮换制度或抽签方式进行分配。收获之后,耕田和草地立刻变成公共牧场。
