At the 21st century, the innovation is the core value of economy. The firm has to appraise each kind of significant discovery, and try to find the new way as well as the new method to deal with the unpredictable market demand. Therefore, the value network should be established by leader of firm which cooperates with customers, partners and suppliers by holding various opportunities, and chooses the resources and integrate module from it. The profitable of cooperative firms is growing through the network and the demand of technology. However, why some networks are enduring? Why some networks are flash in the pan? Why some networks have the sustainable competitive advantage in the global competition? Why some networks suddenly toward the decline in the high speed growth period? A question which is worthy of deep reflection and study are presented. The question is that, in the context of global competition, the network how to constantly innovate, grow, and how to build and maintain sustainable competitive advantage in order to achieve the continuing growth of network. At present, the problem that the networks continue to grow is not only the practice to be studied at home and abroad, but also increasingly becoming the foundation for sustainable economic development. Based on the above consideration, the growth of network organization is took as the object of study by the paper, comprehensively using the theories and methods of economics, management science, complexity science, sociology and ecology, focusing on the growth factors of the new organization to explore the growth conditions and the growth mechanism in order to provide inspiration for the development and change of Chinese firms'growth.
This paper is divided into six chapters, Chapter 1 mainly expounds the research background, research purposes and significance of the study, proposes the logical train of thought, research methods and main content; Chapter 2 reviewed the relevant domestic and international literature, re-understand the nature of network organizations, as well as the reasons of the formation, analyzes the continuous growth mechanism of the network status, builds the logical framework of sustainable growth mechanism in a dynamic environment based on the self-organization theory and dynamic theory of core competence perspective; Chapter 3 mainly discusses the nature, growth mechanism and growth pattern of self-organization that the network continues to grow. On this basis, chapter 3 analyzes the operating mechanism of network growth mechanism, discusses the evolution of network dynamic ability to grow and the association mechanism for network organization continuing to grow, and explore further the access issues of network sustainable competitive advantage based on dynamic growth of the network capacity; Chapter 4 mainly constructs the driving mechanism of the growth of network organizations, mainly reveals construction of the network learning mechanism from the perspective of knowledge, constructs the two-wheeled models to explain how the network learning takes an important role in the operating mechanism; Chapter 5 based on the theory of discourse, separately raises the hypothetical propositions with network organization process of growing up, and constructs a model of the growth mechanism of network organization; Chapter 6 is the empirical research. The Structural Equation Model is used to analyze cooperation networks in rapid economic development area of China, study the effect of relationship, innovation and two mechanisms between learning and the ability of growth in the network. Chapter 7 analyzes insufficiency and the future of this study, and points out that the direction of further study.
Major innovations are as follows:Firstly, Association among complementary relationship, technological innovation, network learning, growth capacity is deeply examined from the self-organization theory and dynamic theory of core competence perspective, and a new system is builded on the basis of the theory. According to the progressive relations the growth mechanism of network organization will be divided into the network operating system and network organization power mechanism, which expand the depth and breadth of existing theoretical research. The research noted the growth of network organization is based on fluctuation mechanism, the fundamental motivation is the network learning, one of the most typical representative is that the chain of knowledge learning is constituted by the knowledge flows. Secondly, the growth mechanism of network organization is studied from the innovation perspective, and various mechanisms are contrasted through combined with complementary assets. In addition, the growth capacity of the three indicators-value level, asset level, knowledge level are locked by the paper, the depth and breadth is broadened by the empirical analysis.Thirdly, the complementary relationship is comprehensively studied by the innovative use of two-way perspective, functional level (such as complementary assets) and social level (such as trust), the specific role of each factor is verified, the shortcomings of the original theory are made up for.
In a word, this paper argues that networks are different from traditional growth paradigm, reflecting the unique characteristics of growth. The effective conformity through relationships, innovation; knowledge learning and core competencies is the source of the network to obtain sustainable competitive advantage.
