摘要
Sentinel-1, a two satellite constellation, is proposed and operated by European Space Agency(ESA) with prime objectives of Land and Ocean monitoring. The first satellite of the constellation, Sentinel-1A, was launched on 3 April 2014, 21:02:00 UTC. And its "sister", Sentinel-1B, is scheduled for 2016. The mission of Sentinel-1 is also equipped with C-SAR(C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar) like ERS-1/2 and Envisat. The Sentinel-1 is with the goal for providing C-Band SAR data continuity following the retirement of ERS-1/2 and the end of the Envisat mission. The Sentinel-1A operates with three types of acquisition modes, e.g., Strip-Map(ST), Interferometric Wide Swath(IW), and Extra Wide Swath(EW). IW mode is the main acquisition mode, acquiring data with a 250 km swath to satisfy the majority of service requirements. The wide swath enhances the ability of tectonic movement and potential geo-hazard monitoring, enabling a wider perspective for geodynamic analysis. We in this contribution use Sentinel-1 data for geodynamic analysis, and monitor potential geo-hazard in some selective sites. Common problems maybe encountered in data processing are discussed. Future perspective of Sentinel-1 application is also summarized.
