镍钴氧化物作为析氧催化剂应用于碱性固体电解质水电解池

摘要
碱性固体电解质水电解池采用阴离子交换膜作为固态电解质,采用非贵金属材料作为电催化剂,与酸性固体电解质水电解技术相比降低了成本。析氧反应作为水电解制氢过程中的速度控制步骤,对整个电解反应的效率起着至关重要的作用。本文采用水热-焙烧方法制备了镍钴均匀掺杂的金属氧化物作为析氧电催化剂。半电池测试中,该催化剂的析氧过电位可降至401 mV@10 mA·cm~(-2)。同时以自制的阴离子交换膜、0.4 mg·cm~(-2) 40 wt.%Pt/C析氢催化剂,2 mg·cm~(-2)的自制镍钴氧化物析氧催化剂组装成单电解池进行稳定性测试,在100 mA cm~(-2)的条件下电解池的电解电压约为~2.03 V,电解池稳定运行约550 h,表现出良好的运行稳定性。
Water electrolysis by alkaline solid polymer electrolyte(APE) water electrolyser is a promising approach for the hydrogen production from water. In this work, Ni/Co oxides were prepared by hydrothermal method, and used as high-efficiency OER electrocatalyst in an APE water electrolyser. The APE water electrolyser assembled with as-prepared Ni/Co oxides and home-made APE showed a nearly constant operating potential, ~2.03 V @100 mA cm~(-2) in 1 wt.% KHCO_3 solution for about 550 h in a durability test, indicating the catalyst with extraordinary stability can meet the long-termdurability requirements of the water electrolyser. This result shows the potential application of Ni/Co oxides in alkaline solid polymer electrolyte electrolyser.
