The cooling system of Multi- cylinder diesel engine was discussed in this paper by using Fluent software for the flow field calculation of a 6 cylinder diesel engine. The principle of flow pressure and velocity distribution was also studied for each cylinder heads and each water jacket with different conditions. The results can be briefed as follows:with the inlet flow being fixed, the fluid pressure in water jacket gradually reduced from the first cylinder to the sixth cylinder while with the pressure in cylinder head increasing, the pressure difference between inlet and outlet of each cylinder head gradually reduced. When the flow rate of coolant inlet decreased, the pressure difference of the whole system also reduced and the difference between the maximum flow and minimum flow rate also reduced, but the flow non- uniformity of cylinder head varied in a little range.
