社会性的自然:戴维·佩珀生态自然观的自然本体论

摘要
社会性的自然是戴维·佩珀生态自然观的自然本体论之"根"。佩珀的"社会性的自然"概念的出场有其时代背景和理论渊源。其时代背景是:20世纪90年代以后,资本主义国家在环境问题上的伪善导致的严峻生态危机、苏东传统社会主义的解体和失败产生的生态环境严重恶化以及西方生态运动的蓬勃发展。其理论渊源是:后现代绿色思潮下的生态中心主义和现代人类中心主义各自存在的内在缺陷、法兰克福学派的"人化自然观"以及其他生态马克思主义者对马克思的自然和社会辩证法的理解等。佩珀的"社会性的自然"具有辩证唯物主义性质,是一个社会概念;这一概念本身蕴含了丰富的"自然-社会"关系的辩证观点。他的这些思想赋予了马克思主义的自然和历史的唯物主义内涵以生态学意义,进一步延展了马克思主义自然本体论的内容,从而对一些西方马克思主义者对马克思的攻击给予了反击,并为佩珀提出他的"弱人类中心主义"的认识论、方法论和价值论提供了重要的理论基础。同时,他的这一概念为他继而提出克服自然异化的途径奠定了基础,并且为解决当代全球性生态危机提供了实践方案。
Social nature is the"root"of David Pepper's natural ontology of the outlook of ecological nature. The concept of Pepper's"social nature"has its era background and theory origins. After 1990 s, the hypocrisy of the capitalist countries in environmental issues led to serious ecological crises, the collapse and failure of traditional socialism of the former Soviet Union and East Europe brought about serious deterioration of ecological environment and western ecological movement achieved vigorous development. Meanwhile, inherent defects have been found in ecocentrism of postmodern green trends and in modern anthropocentric view of nature; in Frankfurt school, there has been "humanized natural viewpoints"; and ecological Marxists began to study Marx's understanding of nature and social dialectics in a different way, etc.. Pepper's"social nature", a social concept,has the nature of dialectical materialism. It contains dialectical views on the relationship between nature and society. These thoughts have given ecological significance to the connotation of the nature and the historical materialism of Marxism, and further expanded the contents of natural ontology of Marxism, giving a counterattack to some western Marxists who attacked Marx and providing an important theoretical basis for Pepper's epistemology, methodology and axiology of "weak anthropocentrism". Besides, Pepper's concept of"social nature"laid a foundation for him to propose ways to overcome natural alienation and provide a practical blueprint to solve the contemporary global ecological crises.
