The influence of electrode diameter,electrode center distance and furnace heights to temperature field in ferronickel ore smelter

摘要
Submerged Arc Furnace is widely used as ore smelter in reduction of nickel oxide mine.In this paper,the calculation of main parameter in submerged arc furnace is summarized.Then 3D finite element models were developed to analyze the influence of electrode diameter,electrode center distance and furnace heights to temperature field in the process of smelting.It shows that with a small electrode diameter,an optimum electrode center distance and a right low furnace height,the temperature will be high in equivalent current situation and high thermal efficiency smelting will be achieved.
