Zwitterionic zinc phthalocyanines were synthesized. The influence of zwitteronic structure on phthalocyanine(Pc) has been studied. The cationic Pc exhibits good photochemical and photophysical properties. The PDT activity of zwitteronic Pc was weak because of the inner salt formation.
