Supportive care is becoming increasingly imbedded in cancer care. Patients with lung cancer are highly distressed throughout and after the treatment. We studied the impact of an experimental supportive care approach. No difference in quality of life, mood or survival was found. Patients in the experimental group received less chemotherapy shortly before death.
