We present measurements of the azimuthal dependence of charged jet production in central and semi-central 64">View the MathML source Pb–Pb collisions with respect to the second harmonic event plane, quantified as View the MathML source. Jet finding is performed employing the anti-6446c7e4c21bf5d7e21865c1dbd1" title="Click to view the MathML source">kT algorithm with a resolution parameter k to view the MathML source">R=0.2 using charged tracks from the ALICE tracking system. The contribution of the azimuthal anisotropy of the underlying event is taken into account event-by-event. The remaining (statistical) region-to-region fluctuations are removed on an ensemble basis by unfolding the jet spectra for different event plane orientations independently. Significant non-zero View the MathML source is observed in semi-central collisions (30–50% centrality) for si6" class="mathmlsrc">si6.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=2fa6848d63c95add4d7a510e3f1234bd">View the MathML sourcesi6.gif">. The azimuthal dependence of the charged jet production is similar to the dependence observed for jets comprising both charged and neutral fragments, and compatible with measurements of the 64c63b0082d73" title="Click to view the MathML source">v2 of single charged particles at high k to view the MathML source">pT. Good agreement between the data and predictions from JEWEL, an event generator simulating parton shower evolution in the presence of a dense QCD medium, is found in semi-central collisions.
