Extensive seismic anisotropy in the lower crust of Archean metamorphic terrain, South India, inferred from ambient noise tomography
文摘
In upper crust of south India, anisotropy coefficient is − 2 to + 3% and at deeper level, except for the Archean metamorphic terrain, most part has anisotropy of up to 5%. Beneath the Archean metamorphic terrain, the anisotropy is up to 9% in the depth range of 20-40 km. The observed higher anisotropy in the lower crust implies the presence of high micaceous minerals or presence of amphiboles.
