Oxidation and reduction of omeprazole on boron-doped diamond electrode: Mechanistic, kinetic and sensing performance studies

Omeprazole is able to be oxidized and reduced on bare boron-doped diamond electrode. Voltammetric signal is dependent on pH value, high pH supports oxidation of OMZ. Charge transfer was characterized by estimating formal potentials, charge transfer coefficients and standard heterogeneous rate constants in various electrolytes. LOD for SWV oxidation of OMZ is 9.1 × 10−8 mol L−1 and for DPV reduction 9.1 × 10−7 mol L−1 were reached. Electroanalytical method is simple, fast, sensitive and possible to be applied into analysis of pharmaceutical formulations of OMZ and human urine as more complex sample.
