Perchlorate-contaminated water was treated by MFCs. The optimum electron donors and initial perchlorate concentration were determined. The effects of electron acceptors on the performance of MFCs were studied. Electrochemical and thermomechanical analyses were applied to MFCs. Dechloromonas was the dominant bacteria on the anode of the MFCs.
