A series of half-sandwich rhodium and iridium complexes with carboxylate ligands were synthesized and characterized. The one-dimensional half-sandwich iridium coordination polymer was synthesized through double-site C-H activation. The molecular structures of the complexes have been determined by x-ray single crystal analysis.
