Light induced lettuce seed germination. Nitric oxide (NO), phospholipase D (PLD) and PLD-derived phosphatidic acid (PA) were involved in germination. PLD acted downstream of NO in germination. Darkness or high temperature inhibited germination by affecting NO production, PLD activation and PA formation.
