Subsidence of the northern South China Sea and formation of the Bashi Strait in the latest Miocene: Paleoceanographic evidences from 9-Myr high resolution benthic foraminiferal δ18O and δ13C records
The first high resolution 9-Myr benthic δ18O and δ13C records in the western Pacific Ocean. The tectonic events in the South China Sea triggered significant paleoceanographic changes. The late Miocene-early Pliocene “Biogenic Boom” had extended to the South China Sea.
