We investigated an association of rare earth elements (REEs) with hypertension risk. We recruited 163 housewives with hypertension (cases) and 235 healthy controls. Fifteen REEs accumulated in housewives' hair in the recent two years were analyzed. Our results revealed that REEs concentrations in cases were higher than in controls. We concluded that high intake of REEs might increase the risk of hypertension.
