Numerical modeling of one of the E-Defense large-scale shake table experiments on lateral spreading. OpenSees was utilized to model soil-pile response to liquefaction-induced lateral spreading. Overall, reasonable numerical predictions were achieved compared to experimental data. A mitigation measure was evaluated to reduce demands on soil-pile system.
