The complete mitochondrial genome for P. roborovskii was reported for the first time. P. roborovskii showed high conservation but OL showed differences with several genera and species in Rodentia. Cricetinae was a younger taxon in Cricetidae and P. roborovskii was a representative of a very basal hamster.
