A hybrid method combining the modified physical optics (MPO) and graphical electromagnetic computing (GRECO) is presented for analyzing scattering by electrically large structures in the terahertz. MPO is used to modify surface-normal vector to improve the surface currents, and then the diffraction error of physical optics is computed, without adding the additional edge equivalent currents. The geometric information of all visible facets is read by GRECO, line integrals are computed over an arbitrary shape in real time. Compared with the FEKO results, the hybrid method is validated, and the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the targets in the THz range are analyzed. Great differences of the target characteristics between the THz and GHz regime are observed and discussed.
