Prehospital NSAIDs use leads to longer hospital stay in pleuro-pulmonary infection. Immunosuppresion is an independent factor for longer hospital stay. Prehospital antibiotic treatment significantly prevented the development of empyema. Immunocompromised patients have significantly more complicated pleural effusions.
