Benzo(a)anthracene (BaA) and phenanthrene (PHE) were selected as representative PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). Bioaccumulation and depuration of selected PAHs in mussels were evaluated numerically based on the experimental observations. Acceptable agreement was obtained between the experimental and numerical results. Developed model holds promise for estimating the uptake and depuration of PAHs for various concentrations and durations.
