G. lucidum total triterpenes (TT) induced apoptosis in MCF-7 cells. TT altered the expression of cyclin D1, Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, Bax and caspase-9 in MCF-7 cells. TT prevented the development of DMBA induced skin papilloma in Swiss albino mice. TT attenuated the formation of DMBA induced mammary adenocarcinoma in Wistar rats. TT extended the tumour latency period in both the models.
