The Datong coalmine, Huainan City, Anhui Province has a mining history of around 100 years, leading to serious ground caving geological hazard. Based on analysis of development features of cavings in the Datong coalmine area, this paper evaluated the caving land stability, made stability zoning, then discussed the suitability of the land for construction, bearing significance to rational planning, seeking and innovating treatment methods, making use of the land resources and quickening comprehensive treatment with regard to caving land.
