Nine conchostracan faunas are known from Cretaceous strata in China. They are the Early Cretaceous Orthestheria and Late Cretaceous Aglestheria faunas from the Southwest China lacustrine biogeographic province. The Early Cretaceous Eosestheria and Yanjiestheria faunas from the northern and southeastern China province. The Late Cretaceous Linhaiella and Tenuestheria faunas from the Yunmeng Lake drainage system, the Euestherites and Daxingestheria faunas from the paleo-Songhua province of Northeast China. The Nemestheria fauna is widely distributed in Cenomanian strata in most regions of China. The biostratigraphical subdivision and correlation of these fossil-bearing strata are discussed in this paper.
