Valuation of geoheritage is a premise for protection and development of geoheritage, and also one of the significant research topics on geosciences and resources. According to relevant state regulations, an evaluation of three types of geoheritage occurring in the Liping geopark at Provincial level indicates that the Liping geopark is characterized by its abundant types, high scientific value and good ornamental features. The three types of geoheritage include reticulated structures of Baota limestone, landform of stone ridges and fossils of the Sinoceras Chinensis (Foord), which are valuated from their typicality, rarity, naturality, scientific and ornamental features. The result of valuation has provided foundational information and support for further protection and development of the geoheritage resources in the geopark.
