Distributions of Acid Rain and Acidified Groundwater in Pearl River Deltas

Pearl River delta area is one of the most serious acid rain region in China, where the acid rain with low pH value occurs frequently, it plays significant role in acidifying the groundwater. In this paper, the authors selected and analyzed pH values from 878 ground water points in this area. The results show that the rate of pH<6 is about 33.4%, acidified ground water with pH<6.5 covers 3 quarters of the area, mainly distributed in low hills and uplands.
